Findlaw.com has upgraded its FindLaw for Small Business Website with expanded legal content and tools and a redesigned look and feel to help small business users navigate the legal issues involved in starting, managing, and growing their businesses.
Among other enhancements, FindLaw for Small Business features a new design and tab-based navigation; its LawCrawler search engine allows users to quickly search for the content that best meets their needs. Expanded content for starting a business includes business plans, business names, financing, home-based businesses, and licenses and permits. A new Startup Toolkit contains access to local resources, such as state chambers of commerce and local offices of the Small Business Administration (SBA). Additional content for running a business includes information on collections, insurance, and liability, and real-estate leases. A new Employment Law & Human Resources section covers topics such as hiring processes, wages and benefits, how to manage independent contractors, avoiding discrimination and harassment, and workplace privacy. A new Forms & Contracts section offers templates and real-life samples of common business forms and agreement for a variety of areas and industries.
Finally, the enhanced Website includes improved access to lawyers via the West Legal Directory, which allows them to find and research lawyers in their area. The database is searchable by lawyer name, firm name, practice area, and location.
