Travel site Expedia Inc. on Monday launched a pre-trip approval and auditing service for businesses.
The new TripController web service is available through Expedia Corporate Travel, a travel management service for corporate customers. The new service provides automated trip approval, along with configurable auditing features, officials with the Bellevue, Wash., company said.
Travel managers can configure TripController to support company procedures and processes by division, department or group. The service also allows for approval checks throughout the booking process.
Auditing capabilities include the ability to view individual itineraries and data to check compliance with company policies, as well as to identify fraudulent activities. TripController is integrated with Expedia Corporate Travel's reporting features.
"Our Expedia Corporate Travel EPX platform creates a technology-enhanced safety net to help companies proactively monitor, manage and automatically document the constant flow of information and transactions related to their corporate travel program," Matt Hulett, president of Expedia Corporate Travel, said in a statement.
