Art Technology Group Inc. on Wednesday launched web self-service software that combines the company's transaction and personalization technology with the search engine of Primus Knowledge Solutions, which ATG acquired last year.
ATG Adaptive Customer Assistance 2005 is the first product integrated with Primus technology since it was acquired in November, officials with the Cambridge, Mass., company said.
"The combined ATG and Primus products are so inherently complementary that we plan to support and advance every current major product line from both companies, while thoroughly integrating them," Cliff Conneighton, senior vice president of marketing for ATG, said in a statement. "ATG plans to make additional announcements and continued enhancements and integrations throughout 2005."
The Primus technology, now called ATG Search, provides shoppers with answers to customer support, shopping carts and general site inquiries. Customers can also get personal transaction information, such as account balances, and links to documents.
The search capability is integrated with ATG's personalization engine to provide answers based on the customer's demographic, previous transaction history, and other criteria.
ACA 2005 is now shipping and generally available.
