Acxiom To Acquire Digital Impact

Acxiom Corp. has agreed to acquire Digital Impact Inc., an online-marketing services company, for $140 million in cash, the companies said Monday.
Under the deal, Acxiom, based in Little Rock, Ark., would pay Digital investors $3.50 a share. The transaction has been approved by the companies' boards, and is expected to close within 30 days, pending regulatory approval.
Digital provides hosted software and services for designing and launching marketing campaigns, and analyze results. The platform supports multiple media channels, including personalized email, targeted websites, web advertisements, search engines and direct mail.
"With the growing demand and spend in this category, Acxiom believes this is an ideal time to enter this space in a leadership position," Charles D. Morgan, chief executive of Acxiom, said in a statement.
Digital, which has 280 employees, has more than 100 customers. Revenues in fiscal 2006 is expected to be between $46 million and $52 million, the company said. Acxiom sells technology and services for managing customer data.
